“You’re a writer? That’s so cool. Maybe I will try to write something.” And then you have people who think writing and drinking go hand in hand and glamorize the combination. If you’ve written long enough, you know none of that matters — the cool title, being able to work whenever and wherever, etc. — the thing that matters is getting words on paper and being fulfilled from it. A glamorous life really is different for each of us — I couldn’t agree more.
